As the founder of EmotionalFitness, my work focuses on helping people and organizations to improve mental health by using proven techniques and strategies in their every day lives. I provide trainings and presentations to a variety of communities, organizations, and professionals. In my seminars, I help answer the following questions: What can I do in my everyday life to improve my mental health? What can organizations do to help make it easier to make better choices that support mental health? What can be done at the organizational level to improve mental health?
My book,Mental Health for College Students: Proven techniques and expert insights is aimed at college students and anyone seeking to help college students using proven life behaviors to improve mental health.
I have been interviewed on the subject of college mental health for The Chronicles of Higher Education, CNBC, the Washington Post, ED Tech magazine and many other outlets.
A Board Certified and licensed psychiatrist at The Ohio State University with over a decade of experience, I completed my psychiatry residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a medical degree from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. I take a holistic and personalized approach to patient care at an individual and large scale level to help people become their best selves.
I have served various leadership roles at the American College Health Association including Board member, mental health section chair, and chairs the technology and third party vendor task force.
I participate in numerous clinical research projects, committees, programs, media, consultation, and legislative efforts regarding college mental health; and AI/digital wellbeing.
My emotionalfitness.blog and Food, sleep, and exercise strategies for mental health programs at OSU has reached hundreds of thousands of people.
